- Once you click the "Start Today" button, you will
register by creating a user ID and providing your name, address, email
address etc. You will need to provide your bankruptcy case number, which
will appear on your certificate.
- You will then be asked to pay by debit/credit card, money order, or using
a payment code provided by your attorney.
The cost of the course is $14.95 per person.
- Completion of the course takes approximately 2 hours. The course covers
the following topics:
- Budget development
- Money management
- Smart shopping
- The value of saving
- Smart investing
- Wise use of credit
- Consumer protections and assistance
- Review questions are provided throughout the reading material. You
cannot fail these review questions. If your answer is incorrect, a
thorough explanation of the correct answer will be provided before you
move on to the next section of the course.
- You can stop and continue the course as many times as you need to.
Each time you log in, you will be directed to the page where you left
off.
- After you complete the course your Certificate of Debtor Education will
be issued within 1 hour.
You will need to download your certificate from your account on this website.
- If you provide your attorney’s email address during registration we will
email your certificate to that email address. However, it is still your
responsibility to make sure that your lawyer or the bankruptcy court
receives a copy of your certificate.
- Any questions or comments will be answered within maximum one business
day.
The course is offered without regard to debtor student's ability to pay. We will
waive the course fee for persons who also received a fee waiver for their pre-filing
credit counseling course.
